Coralee asked about canning last summer when we read Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey. She was going home with the grandparents so we only had one day to get that done. We made strawberry jam although it ended up being more like strawberry syrup. Definitely not a bad thing but I'm still upset that it didn't work. Not sure I'll try jelly again. I just can't get it right. Of course following directions would have helped but that's another story all together. Not leaving a bag of paid stuff at Walmart would be good, too. We used the few leftover strawberries for strawberry shortcake and on Mother's Day I made blackberry cobbler which was delicious.
