Lincoln's First Trip Upstairs

In the four days that we've been home, I've been upstairs twice now. Once was this morning when Coralee woke up and the second time was this afternoon. She wanted to show Lincoln her room first and then show him his room. It was too cute. She asked to get in Lincoln's bed and we did it for the photo moment but warned her to NEVER crawl in Lincoln's bed. Hopefully she'll remember that. Needless to say our little man wasn't all that impressed but it was a special time for everyone else.

Lincoln's New Pillow

We did a little Walmart shopping today (with a gift card - even better that way) and bought a new "boppy" for Lincoln. The one we had for Coralee was pretty girlie. This one is pretty neat since you can velcro them in fairly securely. Lincoln took the extra fabric in his face to mean that it was time to eat. Needless to say, no milk there made him unhappy.

Something Coralee wouldn't have done....

I'm not sure I remember being able to lay Coralee down and have her stay asleep in those first few weeks. I was so bound and determined that Coralee was going to be a good sleeper that I stressed so much about starting out on the right foot. She is a great sleeper and I couldn't ask for her to do better now but it was a challenge in those first few months. I had decided not to stress about sleep training with Lincoln until he was older and look at what that silly boy is doing.... beating me to it.

Tummy Time

Lincoln had his first taste of tummy time today. He did pretty well and of course big sister was more than happy to lay on the play blanket with him.

Mimi, Paw Paw & the Grands

Mom wanted a picture before they leftso of course we obliged. Paw Paw claimed that he thought he was coming down with a cold so he didn't hold Lincoln much. I said it was because he had something against boys (Lincoln's the first grandson). Of course, it could have also been that Mommy was a little bit of a baby hog, too. Coralee's first words (after she asked for Daddy) this morning was "Where's Mimi & Paw Paw?" I know she's glad to have her Mommy & Daddy home but she really loved having Mimi & Paw Paw here.

More Birthday Pictures

I'm not sure how I forgot about our dinner pictures but I did. Actually, let's start with dance class. Poor girlie looked tired already before they left. We had to have a picture of her with her new dance bag from Lincoln but there wasn't time or energy for posing . Mrs. Trish let the grandparents sit in the room during the class which was SO very sweet. They agree that Mrs. Trish hung the moon!

For dinner, Coralee chose Luby's over Chuy's which really surprised me. Actually she said she wanted Rudy's but Mommy vetoed that one. She'd already had Rudy's twice over the weekend and has a new favorite there... cream corn sandwiches. One day we'll get her to eat the barbecue, too.
Anyway, the highlight of a trip to Luby's is their high chairs. Really she was getting too big for them but it's nice to have her strapped in and immobile sometimes. Plus, I remember riding in the same style chairs. To our shock, they got rid of them and have these normal plastic rolling chairs. No fun! Anway, Coralee got chicken strips, macaroni & cheese and cream corn (still managed to find that) with her green Jello. Lincoln snoozed through the whole meal in the sling (or the "swing" as Coralee calls it).
After dinner, we headed home for birthday cake. It's a good thing Luby's isn't very far from the house. Lincoln cried the whole way home because he was hungry, too. Ken and I remarked that we didn't feel as stressed with him crying as we did with Coralee. I fed him and then we were able to have cake. Mom had made Mary a little birthday cake as well since her big day was this week as well. Of course it isn't cake unless there are candles and Coralee decided that Grandma needed some to blow out as well. After that, Coralee had a bath and went to bed without much of a fuss. My poor, tired girl!

Coralee's Princess Bike

Today I'm finally "3"

Coralee requested her Cinderella dress first thing this morning and announced that she is finally "3". I had the idea that she and Ken could go to Krispy Kreme to pick up donuts but she decided she didn't want to go anywhere. Grandma & Grandpa brought them in for us, though. Coralee and Mimi made her princess cake although Coralee ate a whole bunch of fondant from the flowers before the actual decorating began. She was even willing to talk to Aunt C this morning. After I fixed her hair, we went outside to show her the "big" gift.... her Princess Bike.
