Yep.... another zoo

It was a little freaky how close we were to that bear! It would literally put it's nose next to yours. The mommies weren't so sure about that.

Coralee kept trying to "corral" Hudson. Obviously he needed a hug, too. Too sweet!

Run, run, run! Coralee may have enjoyed that more than the animals!

I know, I know we have a tendency to go to lots of zoos in May. Last year we went to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco and then the Forth Worth Zoo the same week while Ken was in Dallas on a business trip. Well, this year was the Houston Zoo and then Cameron Park Zoo again. I absolutely LOVE that zoo. We went with our neighbors and some friends from church. We all rode in Mrs. Shannon's Tahoe and I had commented that it was going to be a loud car. Well, Coralee woke up Tuesday morning talking about the "loud car". It really wasn't that loud but it was funny hearing the boys argue and compare everything. Wow, our world is going to change in September! For some reason, she's really been talking about my cousin Jody and his kids. I think she may miss them as much as I do! After the "loud car" discussion she said something that made me think she thought they were coming with us to the zoo.

All Aboard

You can't go to the zoo and not ride the train! Another sentimental Houston Zoo thing for me. I have to admit that I was a little sad to not see the metal rocket ship play ground that I remember from when I was little. Hmmm.... wonder why they replaced that? I'm sure it was an injury looking to happen! I don't know what the deal is lately but Coralee has chosen me over Ken on train rides. I'm the mean one, what's she thinking?

Houston Zoo.... with the Zoo

We had decided to take Coralee to the Houston Zoo for a while but it was hard to make the time to do it and work it into not only our schedule but Chrissy's as well. We ended up having quite the entourage. Mom & Bubba brought Kasey & Brooke and Gene & Mary joined us too. It was a fun day! Of course the biggest goal was to go before it got too hot. The weather was WONDERFUL! It was even a tad bit cool when we first got there.

One of my biggest goals of this trip was to get a picture of Coralee & Ken by the reflection pool because we have pictures of me and my Daddy there from when I was little and not so little. Well, there was a "private event" so they had that area roped off so we did the best we could.

Coralee LOVED brushing the goats. I'm telling you, those were the most laid back goats I've ever seen. The big white one was sleeping while the kids brushed him.

Seeing this picture made me realize that my belly really does look pregnant!

All Gussied Up

Coralee has been waking up earlier lately so that has meant that she watches TV while I take my shower. Usually she doesn't come in the bathroom but yesterday she did. She peaked in the shower and talked to me for a little bit and I told her to go watch TV. I heard a little rustling around in the linen closet but didn't think anything of it. I was quite surprised when I came out to check on her and she had makeup all over her face. I don't think she did a bad job on the lipstick. The purple is eye shadow. It's funny because you can tell a difference in her face. At first, I just took some pictures and she smiled. There at the end, I was talking to her about how she isn't supposed to put makeup on by herself. She looks a little remorseful, huh?

The Princess Big Girl Room

I think I may have things where I want them now. We're at least well on our way to being "done" with her room. While I was gone a few weekends ago, Ken painted the bedroom in Bibbidy Bobbidy Blue and Fairytale Pink. It was a wonderful surprise for me to come home and see it finished. It's just taken me a while to get the room arranged like I want it to be. We put a couple of things back on the wall and hung the curtains as well. I still have a little wall hanging I'm making with a big "C" for over her bed and I want to get a shelf (probably the one from Lincoln's room) for a little more knick knack space. She really likes the curtains. She woke up on Sunday morning telling Ken that she loved her beautiful curtains. How sweet is that? Of course what she really likes about them is that she can pretend she's "getting married" by using them as a wedding veil. I'm going to blame the obsession with weddings on Cinderella. ;-) At least she's still saying she wants to marry the dog.
