All Dressed Up

I always like to take pictures of her dressed up for church. It's started being more and more difficult to get her to be still for said pictures. The night before we went to a Mexican restaurant and there was a guy doing the balloon animals. Coralee was fascinated by the girl at the next table over's Bevo balloon so she gave Coralee one. It was so sweet. Of course, all she wanted to do was switch balloons repeatedly. She has been thrilled to have her rocking dog from Ken's parents. It's definitely the favorite toy this week!

Inflatable Wonderland

There's a place in the mall with the big inflatable thingies like you rent for birthday parties. On Tuesdays & Thursdays they have 1/2 price days so we brought Coralee when Mom & Bubba were here. She wasn't a big fan! She did enjoy running around after all the other kids, though. We went across the way to the free playground and she had a ball! Goofy girl!

Dressed for Valentine's

Would you believe this dress is a 6-9 month from Coralee's cousin, Adelynne? I couldn't believe it still fit but I thought it was very appropriate for this time of year!

She Just Looks More Grown Up

I don't know why but when I took these pictures, she just looked so much like a toddler instead of a baby!

Playing Outside

We had been stuck in the house for about a week after everyone in the family got sick. I think it really bothered Coralee to not get out of the house much! We went outside to play but the cedar pollen was bad so it didn't exactly help us feel better! She didn't pay attention to the sidewalk chalk much because the neighbors dog was barking. I thought that she had the cutest look on her face!

The Mrs. Jaime Blankie

Coralee loves her lovies and she especially likes the blankie that Mrs. Jaime made her. Mommy does, too! I covered her up with it as we went to let out a neighbor's dog in the morning and she held onto it like crazy. I didn't get a shot of her using it like a shawl, which was awfully cute! Too slow! Notice her lovely ensemble. Her sweet Daddy changed her clothes in the middle of the night due to a leaky diaper and grabbed the ones from the night before. Unfortunately, he grabbed the shirt for one and the pants for what she wore earlier in the week. That's okay, she woke up last night and I went to get her. I was so out of it that I thought she was wet and got new pj's, undressed her and then realized she wasn't wet! Back to the old pj's after that!

Our Little Sicko

Poor Coralee has been sick this week. We've tried to stay in other than a trip to the pediatrician's office. Mommy's about to get stir crazy after a week of that! We had been upstairs playing and I never could get a good picture of her with her kitchen set. These will have to do. They showcase another bargain... a $2.99/piece shirt and pant from Children's Place. I think they'll be long enough for the fall since they're pretty big now!

Playing at the Park

It's been really warm every other day lately. I had originally bought this dress ($3.74 at Target) for next fall but I'm glad I tried it on this week. It might be a little short in the fall! We ran into the Warrens at the playground. Alex was too cute sitting on the bench with Coralee.

Party Doll

Teresa let us borrow Evie's dress a year in advance. It's getting next to impossible to get a picture of her because she moves so fast. Normally I wouldn't show that we don't make our bed on Sundays but it was the best picture of this precious dress!

Leopard Print Cutie

We went to lunch with a friend and I felt like we needed to take the opportunity to dress her up a little! I thought she looked really cute!

Mommy's Little Helper

I got out the broom this morning because I desperately needed to sweep. Well, Coralee just thought I'd been hiding a toy because she carried it all over the place. Now if I can just teach her to sweep we'll be doing well!

Park, Take Two

Teresa called this afternoon to see if we'd like to join them at the park by the house. Even though we'd already been that day, you can't play at the park too much in one day! I didn't do a great job dressing her... you'd think I'd know what fits and what doesn't. She looked like a hoochie with her belly bared. Well, with that shirt, she looked a little pregnant but as Teresa and I discussed there are no fashion faux pas when you're a toddler! Jared kept trying to eat some of Coralee's gold fish and she was not going to let him do it. She screamed and pushed him away and tried to bump him off of the bench. We're going to have to work on sharing!

Fun at Zilker Park

I decided that we'd make a trip to the park yesterday... and what a whirlwind trip it was! The weather was warm and it was the perfect day to spend outside! We went to toddler story time instead of lapsit on Tuesday and the theme was the zoo. I wasn't in the mood to drive out to the zoo so we went to the Nature & Science center instead. She got to see the coyote and hawks as well as the ducks which she thought was great. The funniest thing was the raccoon asleep in the rafters with his paws sticking out of the cage. Too cute! I didn't know that red foxes climbed but they were in the top of their cage as well, right next to the raccoon. Next we went to the park for lunch and a little bit of playing. She was so cute sitting at the picnic table swinging her legs! Coralee was so distracted by the pigeons and grackles in the picnic shelter and all the people walking by that she didn't eat. She played a little while and got to swing before we went back across the street to the Botanical Gardens. I had the brilliant idea that we'd leave the stroller and she could walk around. Big mistake! If she would have walked with me it would have been fine but she wanted to go where she wanted to go and didn't understand that you need to stay on the paths! We did get to see the fish pond and she enjoyed the big koi. Next time we'll bring the stroller! My favorite picture is one I took right before she fell on her bottom!

Christmas with the Eagles

We had New Year's lunch over at Aunt Laura's. Nothing beats Uncle Gil's Jambalaya! Aunt Laura made some really good cabbage and blacked eyed peas, too. Reminded me how much I like cabbage! Coralee had a blast playing the piano and stealing sweet Gracie's baby stroller. Next we went to Aunt Cyndi & Uncle Larry's. It was a little different this year since we didn't stay with them the night before. They're now calling their house the "Kirby Commune" since there are so many people living there. Their friends are living there until their house is repaired from hurricane damage... flooding caused by pump operators who evacuated instead of doing their job there in Lake Charles. I'm only bitter because Uncle Gil had to go back to the jail to turn on the emergency generators instead of them being able to stay for Coralee's birthday. But, I digress! We ate way too many appetizers and didn't have much room for dinner. We had our usual Chinese Christmas. Uncle Larry ended up with a shawl that he called his kilt and Jody got some great Redneck Windchimes. Mrs. Chambers was quite attached to her chihuahua that sang "Feliz Navidad". We had to leave earlier than I would have liked because Coralee was just about at the melting point after almost a week of one nap and a cat nap instead of two good naps.
