Bellagio
The consservatory in the Bellagio was incredible. The reindeer were made of pecans; there was a cranberry bog in the fountain; the polar bears were made of carnations. To complete the decadence, they have the world's largest chocolate fountain. Everything was just gorgeous! Oh, and if you notice, Ken chopped my chin off in this picture. He's always been great at the hands' length picture but somehow it didn't work well on this trip. We had to laught because there were so many with my chin or more of my face cut off.
Surprise!!!!!!
On the last night of the Christmas program, I went out to my car to leave and Ken was standing next to the car. It really freaked me out at first. I just knew someone was dead and I was worried about where my girlie was. He calmed me down a little by saying everything was fine and Coralee was sleeping at home and his parents were there. Sneaky since I thought they had gone home (came into town for the program). He played three songs to let me know what we were doing and where we were going...... Fly Me to the Moon by Sinatra (yep, we were flying), Three Days by Pat Green (how long we'd be gone) and Viva Las Vegas by ZZ Top (to say where we were going). I was in shock the entire time. I basically had 12 hours to get ready and go. I had been pouting for months since Ken said he hadn't made reservations for our anniversary. I SO wanted to go somewhere special and not just dinner. I was happily surprised with his plans! We made a grocery run and then went home to pack. We stayed at the Luxor. Ken's all excited because the 3rd night was free. I thought that was pretty great, too!
We had an uneventful flight. I got weepy when we left Coralee and again when we landed in Vegas but all in all I was pretty okay being away from her. It definitely helped that Ken's parents were taking care of her. I knew she was being loved and would be fine.
The first night I was pretty exhausted from staying up late to pack and getting up early (nerves). We were in bed pretty early and slept 11 hours that night. We spent the day walking up the strip looking at the hotel lobbies and shopping. It was so neat. No, we didn't gamble. Not only do I have moral issues with it but I also have greedy issues. I've always wanted to play the slot machines but when I played them at Ken's company Christmas party and lost all my pretend money, I decided that it wasn't that much fun!
All Ready to Go
We always explain to Coralee (when she asks where Mommy is on Wednesdays) that I sing in the choir. She's seen me play handbells and enjoyed that so I figured she needed to hear the choir Christmas program. It was so much fun to dress my little girl up for a big night with Daddy. She had fun dancing around and was of course more wild because of it being past her bed time.
